I was excited when I discovered my favorite group in the world, The Backstreet Boys, was putting out a Christmas album. The last Christmas song they put out was in 2012 with “Christmas Time Again,” and in 2000 with “Christmas Time.” I am a super fan of the group, so I purchased and listened to the album.

I got the CD from Amazon, the holy grail of shopping, and downloaded the MP3 version. The album has 13 songs, three of them original songs. The rest are remakes of popular carols, especially a remake of Wham’s “Last Christmas.” I prefer the original version, though. My favorite track is number eight, “Same Old Lang Syne,” a take on the original song “Auld Lang Syne.” The song inspired a short holiday story I am currently writing. I want to purchase a vinyl version of the album, but I don’t have a record player yet.

Upon listening to the whole album, I found myself singing along to the songs like I did when I was a 16-year-old girl in my bedroom, with their pictures plastered all over my walls and the ceiling. Zora looks at me like I’m batcrap crazy when I sing off-key at the top of my lungs. I am going to another concert, seeing them at a Las Vegas residency, and on a cruise. It’s something I’m speaking into existence.

That’s it for now! I like the album and want to hear new music from them. I’ll see you in the next post!
