June 2023 ended on a great note. I did go to my friend’s wedding, and despite getting lost, I had a great time. Zora had a great time in Alabama visiting and meeting her cousins, and beginning summer camp about a week late.
July is officially here. Yesterday, I began watching a lot of YouTube videos that tackled Vlogmas 2022, and it got the wheels turning in my brain on whether or not I shall participate this year in a more truncated manner. I asked Zora if she would like to try it out this year. She said yes, so maybe I’ll try it for about seven to 12 days. I don’t have the energy to go a full 24 to 31 days as of yet. The final decision isn’t made as of typing.
Independence Day is coming up, and I printed out a speech Frederick Douglass gave about the significance of the holiday to Black people of African descent to read to my daughter and tell her why Juneteenth matters more to us. That is a discussion for a different day. I think we’re going to see the fireworks on the shores of Lake Michigan while eating burgers, and hot dogs, and having popsicles to cool off.
I don’t know what’s in store for this month. I do know my 41st birthday is coming up, and I want to do something with someone I deem important in my life, not with the flaky people in my life. I think I have a video idea based on that, and a more detailed written version of it to post.
I have to go feed Zora and clean up the apartment. See you in the next post!
