Happy April, readers! The first three months went by fast! I have had some ups and downs and saw a slight return to old habits I have held for years. I am looking at my calendar and seeing how I can perform an entire reset at home, including content creation and health and wellness.
Health and Wellness
The first thing I saw was a return to reading and journaling as a form of self-care. I was off my nightly routine, and I didn’t like it. Granted, Zora does keep me busy at night, and she does come first. I read my current book, A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas, when I take public transit, and I have gotten through the first twelve chapters so far. Depending on my feelings, I may read more after reading this first book in the series. I later turned around and bought Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins, the latest book in The Hunger Games series. This book is my only physical copy; the others are ebook versions. I want to review the book and watch the movie when it comes out in theatres next year. Recently, I purchased Blossom in Winter, an eight-book series by Melanie Martins, from TikTok shop because I wanted to know what the buzz was all about. I eagerly await my book copies to comprehensively review that particular series.
I recently returned to journaling. I felt off when I didn’t write in my diary daily. The last time I fully wrote in it was in October, when life is life-ing. Two nights ago, I got out my yellow, sticker-clad diary and started writing again. I felt so much better after I had written down my feelings. Now, I’m beginning to put together a nightly routine that includes reading about two chapters in a book at night and writing in my diary.
I returned to the doctor’s office last month. I got blood work done and had a mammogram. My bloodwork returned, and all of my stuff is normal, except for my vitamin D levels. I am on a vitamin D regimen and need to go outside and touch grass more. That, or move to Arizona, Florida, or California. Can I handle the dry heat? Like Zora’s, my nose bleeds when it’s dry in my apartment. The next appointment will be for other things that women need now more than ever in terms of reproductive and sexual health. Exercise will play a big part in the equation. I have to lose some excess weight off my joints because I noticed that the more I put on, the more my hips and knees hurt. With the weather warming up, I want to start walking to take off some excess weight. I may detail my journey as well.
Content Creation
Next on the agenda is my fledgling content creation career. Although I’m doing this on a part-time basis, I do enjoy it. Talking into a camera to yourself isn’t easy because I speak with a stutter, which adds another layer of nervousness when speaking. The more times I post myself on YouTube, the more I can overcome my fear of speaking into a camera. I have a running schedule for my videos: one video a week gets uploaded on Wednesdays at 6 pm CST on my channel.
I am still working on a page to sell digital products here. I have an idea for what I want to sell, and I’m also working on the physical version of that product. It will be a tool to make money for the business, and I need money to start investing. Right now, I pay for my hosting and domain out of my pocket until I make enough on YouTube to open a business checking account or get business credit. That’s a story for another day.
I am looking into adding Instagram and YouTube feeds to this site’s homepage. I want the latest posts to show up there. I also have a video introducing the site that I may add. Once the decision to add the store is made, the site will need an overhaul to accommodate what’s needed. I am striving to stick to a weekly schedule for posting articles.
That’s how the next three months will look: self-care, getting healthy, and working on my content creation and turning it into a business. My latest video is up and running, and I’ll see you in the next post!
